Takeover of Bergisch Märkische Bank with headquarters in Elberfeld (today Wuppertal). Bergisch Märkische Bank had been represented with a branch in Düsseldorf since 1874. This branch was established through the takeover of the Düsseldorf branch of Elberfelder Disconto- und Wechsler-Bank, which in turn emerged from the former Düsseldorf bank Baum, Böddinghaus & Co. in 1871.
