Norddeutsche Bank (in German)
Norddeutsche Bank in Hamburg was founded on 15 October 1856. Since the 1860s the bank had close business relations with Disconto-Gesellschaft in Berlin, and in 1895 Norddeutsche Bank became a subsidiary of Disconto-Gesellschaft. However, Norddeutsche Bank remained an own legal entity, and continued to operate with its traditional business name. When Deutsche Bank and Disconto-Gesellschaft merged in 1929, Norddeutsche Bank was fully integrated into the new big bank.
