Charts 1923-1942
In November 1923, following the period of hyperinflation that engulfed 1922 and 1923, the German Rentenmark was introduced as an interim currency. On October 11, 1924, this was replaced by the Reichsmark, which remained the legal tender throughout the Weimar Republic, the Nazi period and the initial post-War period. Finally, on June 20, 1948, the Deutsche Mark was introduced.
