Welcome to the
Historical Association
of Deutsche Bank!

The way we view the past
affects the way we see the future

The Historical Association of Deutsche Bank was founded on June 12, 1991 as a non-profit organization. The Historical Association has more than 2,000 members. Its main objective is to draw attention to the history of banking - especially of Deutsche Bank - and describe the political, economic and cultural environment in which banks operate.

"A monument to Deutsche Bank’s pioneering era"

A new publication is dedicated to the biography of Hermann Wallich (1833–1928). Already an acknowledged expert on the overseas market he was recruited for the new Deutsche Bank in 1870. Wallich consented and found his vocation. He shaped the fortunes of Deutsche Bank for almost 25 years and supported it in becoming the largest credit institution in Germany.
