The Historical Association of Deutsche Bank was founded on June 12, 1991 as a non-profit organization. The Historical Association has more than 2,000 members. Its main objective is to draw attention to the history of banking - especially of Deutsche Bank - and describe the political, economic and cultural environment in which banks operate.

25th anniversary of the death of Alfred Herrhausen 

Alfred Herrhausen was Spokesman of the Management Board at Deutsche Bank from 1985 to 1989. During his time in office, Herrhausen publicly addressed and tackled many sociopolitical issues. He became the first representative of a major global bank to push for debt relief tied to economic reforms to resolve the serious debt crisis of Third World countries. On November 30, 1989 Alfred Herrhausen was assassinated.
